1.  If you have to start rolling your clothes in your suitcase, you either are taking too much or your suitcase is too small.

2. Add swag to your luggage so you can identify it quickly. I use patterned duct tape and just tape a piece about 4” to the front. Stop putting ribbon, everyone does that.

3. Weigh your luggage before you leave for the airport. Prices for overweight luggage are high.

4. Check your flight departure before you leave for the airport. If your flight is delayed by an hr., you would have time to eat before leaving and save yourself an expensive breakfast.

5. Take a digital photo of your checked bag before it leaves on the belt. If your bag is lost, it will be an immense help.

6. When boarding the plane, don’t use a screen shot. If the internet is weak, you can’t get it up and you are holding people up. When checking in, just push the button for a boarding pass.

7. When they call your section to board a plane, get on as quick as possible. Your seat will not disappear, but the space in the overhead compartment for carryon baggage will.

8. Book a seat ahead of time and if your only option is to pay for it, consider this. You need a seat number to board a plane and if the flight is full, you are the first one to be held back.

9. Make extra copies of your passport and pin them to the inside of your luggage. If you lose your passport, this copy will prove invaluable.

10. Bring a cover for the pillow on the plane.

11. Bring disinfecting wipes; I have never seen anyone wipe the trays down.

12. Carry a pen, you will definitely need it.

13. Pack a change of clothes in your carry on. No one looks cool on a beach with jeans and boots. Trust me luggage does get lost.

14. If your destination requires a travel plug adapter, make sure you check the socket type as well as the voltage.

15. Bring an extension cord for the room. If you are working on your lap top from the bed, it will be so appreciated.

16. Bring a night light; this small light can avoid accidents at night.

17. Carry a portal charger

18. Email yourself any info about the destination that you researched.

19. Bring waterproof bags.

20. Avoid theft with duct tape. I put some on my lap top. Thieves want new laptops not ones held together with duct tape.

21. If you have a tablet, download movies before you leave home. Many foreign countries only have a couple of English channels.
